The most
significant cultural event in Karlsruhe this entire year - the Commodore's
Cocktail Cinema!
The original "Happy Hour" crew, consisting of Marco Schicke and the
Commodore himself, will make tropical cocktails inspired by the travels of
One-Eyed Willy and his fellow swashbucklers. These rum-riddled libations will
serve as the intro and coda to a cinematic event of such grand stature, it
cannot be overstated. People's lives may very well change. No one can say for
sure, but the potential lay within the reel of film that will unfurl next
Tuesday night (starting promptly at 7PM). To go along with our drinks selection
both before and after the film, DJ Thomas Weber will craft a set of 80s fire.
There will be a brief commentary before showtime to put this important series
of films in context, as well as offer some insight into why The Goonies was
chosen as our inaugural offering.
A limited number of advance tickets are available at Electric
Eel until Monday evening - 7 EUR, or 6 EUR for students. You will also be able
to buy tickets at the Kinemathek Karlsruhe e.V. box office on the day of the
screening.
Channel your island mojo with tropical-themed attire and maybe, just maybe, the
Commodore will make you his first mate. And by that, of course, I mean I'll buy
all your drinks.
The screening and drinks will be at Kinemathek! Located at Kaiserpassage
6, 76133 Karlsruhe.
Best,
Craig (aka, The Commodore)
